30 gallon filter?

I got a new 250 watt M H for my tall 30 gallon but my filter is in the way. The stock filter covers up half of the top of the tank. I think I am going to get a different filter. Any sugestions for a nice setup?

are you using a hang over the back skimmer?
If it is...you can always get an overflow and have it flow down to a seperate tank which you can house your skimmer. This will also give you more water volume as well.

Yup, run a overflow with a sump

overflow and sumps a good idea can also run heaters and othere equipment down there also to clean up the look of the tank
