Just wondering what the experience was with this so far, have any of you that got the alternatives done side by side testing with the "factory reagents" to see if there are any variances?

just replaced all reagents with the ABC reagents for the first time. I used the old Neptune containers, just poured the contents into them. Easy peasy.

I made sure to prime all lines for the 3 reagents and the sample line.

started the calibration procedure.

I’ll let everyone know how it goes!

also did a little maintenance on the trident: I cleaned the internal vial- it was looking a little cloudy/dirty. It wasn’t hard, took about ten min or less. I didn’t realize how dirty it was. Probably why I had to calibrate almost monthly 🤦‍♂️. So hopefully this reagents work well. I think with a clean vial, primed lines and a calibration it should work as planned. But time will tell lol. I think I’m going to set reminder to clean vial out every 6 months- it’s been a few years in service- so it was probably way over due lol.

I haven’t compared them side by side- but I will check with Hanna checker and salifert tests- and compare values to see how close they are.

I did that with Neptune reagents and never got exact- but all test were in pretty close range (except my calcium seemed to drift up on trident tests. I believe this was due to dirty internal vial. But I cleaned it this time around) hopefully the clean vial will help get more accurate tests.

as long as it’s pretty close with the Hanna/Salifert tests - (about same results as Neptune reagents) I’ll be be happy with it.

I’ve read a few other reviews of the ABC and so far people that have actually used it don’t have anything negative to say. So I'm hoping they work out ok.

Things still going well? Anyone else switch and start using these?

I picked up a used trident and was thinking about just going this route right out of the gate.

I’m on me second bottle or reagent A- halfway through reagent B and C. So far it’s going great. Working as it should.

awesoem, I picked up a used trident so I need some reagents. Figure might as well start on these haha. I can compare with my current test method and see how it goes

Half the price seems silly not to try it. I have old reagent bottles from previous owner so I can just rinse them out and reuse and we good to go.

I've been using abc reagents for 3 months now. The only issue I've had is with the calibration solution. The reagent is great and worth the savings.

I've talked with Jonas (owner) about the calibration solution. He stated that he has improved it. The issue was the calibration solution wasn't stabilized in the early batches. I've used tank water and put in the test values from my hanna testers to calibrate.
