Foselone, I dont know which powerheads Ill be going with. I was thinking of starting out with 1 Vortech MP40 and then adding another in a few months. But I really don't like the look of the dry side of the Vortech. Having 2 on a tank really looks like the tank is wearing ear muffs or old school headphones lol.
Here are some new pics of my tank. Don't mind the mess in my room, its been a huge mess with me having to break down the current tank and work on the new one.
Only with Actincs on!
No Flash:
Hayward Bulkhead from Bulkreefsupply, This thing is a monster for only being 1 inch.
good job reefer08 !!! now lets see all those nice corals in there... ill be over on thursday to help with the rock structure.... and you can clean my tank starting this week.. =)
Redcarpet - No need to help me with the aquascaping, I just redid my rock work. Sure ill be over on Thursday to help you out on your tank and give you some of my miracle water lmao jk....
Thanks! Im saving my money for equipment so stocking corals is last on my mind. Im getting a Geo 618 Calcium Reactor soon. Im so stoked on getting it. No more dosing 2 part!!! I hated 2 part, constantly testing alkalinity, worring about not being able to take 2 day vacation from my tank without things dying.
The tank has been running for 4 days now and everything is going great. I have absolutely no algae on the glass, im very surprised. I haven't cleaned the glass once and I don't even need too. I think it might be due to the vodka ive been dosing? Ive been doing 1ml per day for the first week.
Do you guys think I should run phosphate media even though im dosing vodka + aminos? I read its not necessary. Im currently only running carbon from bulk reef supply fine grain in my reactor.
you are also going to have to feed more running vodka, I learned this the hard way trying to keep chalices and using vodka. the skimmer with vodka dosing, pulls stuff like crazy, not a whole lot of food left for the corals
