I want to document my build with this post. I have a 75 gallon aqua Japan tank 36x24x20. I’m pretty exited because this is the biggest tank I’ve ever had. I made a steel stand and painted it with por 15. The walls are made out of 1x6 wood with frosted glass inserts. The main door will be held on by magnets. I ordered acrylic baffles from eBay for a 20 long sump. That’s it so far hope to start plumbing soon.

I made a light hanger out of conduit for my ati light today. I'm not to sure how high I should have it above the water. Im also have 2 aquatic life halo led lights i might put up but not sure if that would be overkill. I don't have a parmeter but any input is appreciated.

That’s super rad! Can you post a picture of how you secured the conduit?

I have that same exact tank. I modified the overflow intake and had a 3D printed version so that it doesn't run the water level too high when I have my return pumps on high. What type of flow are you planning on the tank?

I used conduit clamps with self tapping screw to Hold it to the back of the stand.

I have 2 rossmont pumps, 2 Jebao pumps and a Jebao return pump.

That sounds like a fun project but if someone has the cad file they could send me that would be cool to.

You want a CAD? What do you use? Do you want the .stl file? I can get a mesh file on solidworks if you want. It’s up on thiniverse 2811807

Thanks I'll print one out when the tank is up and running.

Looking good, great job on the stand. I really like those frosted panels.

I want to say I ran my 8 bulb fixture about 10" off the water for an sps dominant reef. That tank was also 24" deep.

That lid looks clean too, great job on that.

Thanks dude. The frosted panels were my girls idea and I really like how they turned out. This will probably be an sps tank. Jason from coral collectors literally lives less than a mile from me so I'll probably be frequenting his shop. I can adjust the height of the light but I dont have a par meter. I'll have to experiment to find the right height. My bulb combo is B+,B+,Coral+,B+,Purple+,B+.

Finished my junior year of school and it was tough online. It really made it hard to be interested in the tank. I also moved into a new apartment but since its been summer i've been able to pay alot more attention to the tank. Its been running for almost a year. I just added a mandarin and finally started adding corals. I still need a doser and want to add a few more fish.
