hey,
i have this project tank that been sitting in my garage for months now. it has a few scatches in it, nothing really deep. what is the best way to remove the scratches? i have one of those scratch removal kits with the multi grit sandpaper but dont really know how to use it.
thanks

Use a novus scratch removal kit and take a car buffer to it. Its amazing how well this stuff works. I'm working on a 125 acrylic tank right now

i purchased a sanding kit from here

http://www.sisweb.com/micromesh/craftsman_kits.htm

comes with instructions but pretty much you just sand from left to right with one grit, then up and down with the finer grit alternating as you switch to the finest grit.

for minor scratches though I have read that novus works really well. The sand kit looks amazing when you put time into it and can also be used once the tank is set up, or so i've heard.

it's same one bustyanky linked to, i used the aquarium kit

im restoring a tank right now and im using both micromesh and then novus. im really surprised at how its turning out, it looks brand new. its worth the extra work. much better than paying full price for a new tank.
