I just got the powder blue tang last Thursday and she has been in the QT since. She has been watching well

I started noticing her upper lip was red yesterday and I'm very concerned, because I lost another powder blue tang in QT with mouth sore not too long ago.

I tried feeding again this morning and she still has a great appetite, but the upper lip has turned worse. Please see the picture.

I did some research and found that the API Triple Sulfur will work well, but it's nowhere to be found online.

I would greatly appreciate any advice you guys can provide. And anyone who may have some spare API Triple Sulfur I can purchase from.

Thanks in advance.

If it helps, my local LFS in Hollywood carries API triple sulfa but I would still call beforehand to make sure it’s in stock. Yo’s aquarium (323) 871 2730. Good luck

looks like a bacterial infection

the go to humblefish recommends for mouth issues is nitrofurazone and sulfaplex

is the fish in copper? if it is, it likely won't be "fixed" until it's out of copper, but it should help get it through and then be fixed afterwards by continuing to dose it

Thanks for your input.

She is in QT but not in copper treatment. I'll get the medicine ASAP.

Scratch calling my LFS. Just paid them a visit & they are out. Owner said that triple sulfa can’t be found. He suggested amoxicillin trihydrate, which he has, sells & uses in place of sulfa.

It's bare bottom and the sides are not covered. I got a feeling that she might get injured inside the PVC pipe which it's U shaped.

lymphocystis? Difficult to see clearly in the photo.

10 gallon tank will surely stress the tang and make it less likely to survive QT. Even a 40g black storage container from home depot will be much better.
Good luck.
