Looking for any proven aiptasia eater you may have. Tried aiptasia x but there is a ton of little ones

Peppermint shrimp… but you need to get a few unless you want to gamble. In my past experience only a handful develop an appetite for aiptasia.

In my old tank i got hit pretty bad and threw two of them in, and nothing… Couldn't throw a file fish in because I was in a fallow period due to an ich outbreak. I bought 5 more and the aiptasia was gone in a week.

Although, this was 7-8 years ago when peppermint shrimp were $3-$5ea

Where are they selling file fish

because people buy them? they are popular for aiptasia control and not difficult to captive breed. Peppermint shrimp are not reef safe. I’ve had peppermints eat the center out of my fungia plate and start on a favia. I did a poll on R2R and 1/3 of people had them eat their corals.

Many people and LFS mistake camel shrimp for peppermint shrimp, camel shrimp are not reef safe. I‘ve kept peppermint shrimp multiple times with no issues.
I am not saying it is not possible, just saying i have kept them on multiple occasions with no issues as long as i looked to see if it was not a camel shrimp beforehand.

I am +1 on this. Peppermint shrimp have always worked for me and I had no issues with them eating my coral. Even my plates

consider yourself lucky. I’ve been in this hobby a long time and can definitely tell the difference between camel and peppermint. It was peppermint that are my fungia i caught them in the act. 20 out of 60 people also agreed they are not reef safe and ate their coral on my R2R poll.

I tried this in my sump(100g) and they ended up fighting pretty bad. I have one left and it's never touched a aptaisia or paly.

Filefish can possibly eat corals, peppermint are a specific variety that eat aiptasia (they are opportunistic eaters, so if something isn’t doing well, they will eat it). Berghia is your safest modality.
