It seems these are very popular, and I definitely understand why. They give a good amount of water volume without taking up TOO much room. I’ve never done a build thread before but I’m going to give it a go

So the tank is your standard 60 cube 24x24x24 (it’s not rimless which I wish I had done), it had a standard overflow box right in the middle, again, wishing it was a corner. I originally bought this tank 4 years ago and then upgraded to a 120, I sold it off to a coworker of mine, spent a couple weekends setting up the tank and he literally NEVER put fish in it

so I rocked the 120 for a while and then got out the entire hobby for a about 2 years when money got tight prepping for my wedding, saving for a house and then soon after the wedding the wife got pregnant. We moved into our new house just over a month ago and she is due is literally any day now. But as cliche as it sounds. She is the best ever, she told me I could set up a new tank, for the new house for the new baby haha. I still had the 120 and we wanted to put the tank is the house and the design of the house doesn’t allow us to have that long of a tank :/ so I hit up that coworker of mine, asked him if he still had the tank and how much he wanted for it. To my surprise he said “come and get it, no cost”. So I did the next day before he changed his mind haha. So that’s where we are at now.

Current equipment
KESSIL A360WE used from a forum member with controller
16X18 cube acrylic sump used from forum member
Dct-8000 retune pump
2 mp-10 for flow

The plan for the tank is to go LPS ZOAS SHROOMS only, I do not want to get into the SPS realm, not right off the bat at least.

Future plans
I would love to add another kessil light eventually to avoid drop off of light at the corners or even the T5 hybrid kits, but I don’t want 4 bulbs I’d prepare just 2 for full light, again, not going SPS
debating if I go bare bottom or sand, and then black sand or white,
I have an Apex jr I’d love to get some modules for, to control the mp10s with, the PH monitoring and salinity monitoring.
Other then that. I don’t need a ton of equipment. The plan is to make this a show quality tank in my living room, I want high end pieces, not generic, and would love as many moving moving critters in there as I can for my son. I’d appreciate ANY advice you guys can give for I haven’t been involved in the hobby for a couple years and things just evolve so fast haha. Okay some pics now
custom stand made by me neighbor who did the cabinets in the house so it matches the kitchen perfectly

Hopefully I’ll get tank on stand today or tomorrow and then can start laying out the plumbing soon, but whenever little guy comes I’ll have to take a break but it’s not stopping, I won’t just go dark and the build never finishes thank you taking the time to read all this

Decided I had some time this morning and wanted to clean the Kessil before setting up completely. I heard it’s good to do annually and getting this used I decided to clean, and thank god I did. What a dust trap :/. Looking much better now and back to working properly
