thats only if I get an apex right
I wouldn’t run a tank over 75gal without an apex, but that is just my personal opinion. If you do end up running an apex, you will not need the ink bird temp controller (unless you want to run one for redundancy/safeguard)

Just wondering why?

Is it just the controllability? the trident testing? Im honestly curious.

You can easily control every outlet even if you are not home and program them individually. I do not run their trident but i do have their doser and adjustments are super easy.

Currently leak testing and everything is fine, just had to tight the return line.

only issue I have so far is the water going into the 2nd baffle is quite loud, Im wondering if the sound will be reduced a bit once I put a skimmer in? also the vibration from the Sicce Syncra SDC 9.0 despite having the rubber feet and being at 30% power, anybody got tips on that?

you can set the pump on a mousepad that’s can help a bit. A DC pump is really the best way to go. they are literally silent. Sicce is still good for AC, but they do make noise. If the noise from water going into the baffle is loud, the most simple solution is to put a ball valve on the output side of the return pump and turn it down a bit.
I prefer to do return pumps euro style with low flow, which in turn, makes the whole system quieter. So like 4-6x tank volume GPH only. The 9.0 is overkill here IMO.
Then you have your main flow coming from your powerheads up top. Adding a protein skimmer would not change anything there.

I'm not familiar with the WB sump design but for the most part if water making noise chamber to chamber then the difference in water height is usually the issue. Can you raise the water heigh of the second chamber?

Keep in mind almost all pump are audible when new, once they run for a bit and get that bacterial/slime coat going then quiet down a little more.

what pump recommendations do you have? this one had already came with the setup and the sicce is a dc pump

ok then i take back what I said i was mistaken. i suggest turning it down to the lowest setting and see how the noise is. as others have mentioned, you can put a silicone pot holder under it to help with vibration noise.
I understand what you guys are recommending but I think the point is why a $400 pump so loud at 5% power
Ill attach a youtube video, its on 5% in the video

could be a couple things. their could be an air pocket trapped inside. Or it could have debris in the impeller housing. Or it could be a defective pump. Next step would be to take it out, disassemble it and check for debris, take out the impeller and give it and the housing a good rinse then reassemble and re-install it.
before hooking back up to hosing, fully submerge it and while submerged, point the intake up to the water surface to let any air escape. then power it up again and see if the noise persists. if it does, contact Sicce and see if they have any suggestions or will cover it under warranty.
