After reading a thread on another form about limiting carbon source it might have answerd a question I was pondering for a while. On my 300 gal I've been having my p04 right around 0.58 due to leeching of the dead rock I used however with p04 as high as it it and with over 1200 watts blasting the tank for 8 hours a day , I get no film on glass nor do I have any kind of growth of algae beside some coralline on the rocks. My trates sit right at 4.4 according to lamottes and p04 is from Hanna big machine not checker. So I'm wondering if low iron is a determining factor. I'd like to hear your guys opinions.
