ATO on smart plug/timer?

Does anyone put their ATO on a smart plug? I'm considering putting my Tunze osmolator 3 on a timer for like 3 minutes ON twice a day. It almost overflow my 15g last night but luckily I heard the pump keep turning ON and OFF so I unplugged the unit. going to clean and restrict the flow later. Curious what other measure everyone is doing in case their ATO malfunctions?

I don't have the osmolator 3. Still rocking the previous version. Does it not have a high sensor cutoff?

Yeah, you might want to restrict some flow. I know it has a built in timer where it will shut off after running for x amount of time.

yes, it have a secondary high sensor and both are optical. LED was red meaning water is too high but pump still turning on/off
