Picked up a “40” breeder, 36x15x16, more like 37 gallons. Now in the need for lights, have come across some IM 8 watt 14k with a couple of 456k lights. Think two would be enough for zoas and shrooms?
Four available for under $100. Find very little info on them, even on their own site.
40 breeder doesn’t seem to be much more than the equivalent of two Nuvo 16s they came with. again I can get four for less than $100 If need be.

Nice!

I don't have experience with their 8 watt light but I ran a single 18W Skye for about 4-5 months and it was adequate for the zoas and mushrooms I had. Probably not going to be busting at the seams with growth but I am sure it will keep them alive.

What size tank? Width and Depth? Length doesn’t matter since I could get four of the 8 watt ones on a 36” tank spaced 8” apart. Actually closer, 8” I would only need three.

12”W X 12”D basically. It was a 30” long 20 gallon penisula due to the mount on those lights it did not quite extend to the middle of the tank and why I eventually switched to get better coverage toward the front.

So even the 18 watt Skye weren’t enough.

It wasn’t that it couldn’t provide better spread but I did want to mount the light on the long side of the peninsula (as not to obstruct the view) so it was mounted to the back pane. The 18 watt was a fixed mounting arm built into the light so no way to stretch it out further over the tank. Hope that makes more sense.

If you didn’t mind the look or 3/4 lights over the tank I think they would accomplish what your looking for.
