I'm too scared to cut them.

Even when I put the babies in the mushroom cage, they get lost or get blown through the cage.

My flame tip diaseris self split recently because another plate expanded over it. I took that baby and superglued it onto a flat plug...next morning...it was gone. Somehow detached and blown into the nether world.

One of the Purple Monster mushrooms won’t open sitting on the sand bed so I moved it up higher on the rock work. Well, it nearly doubled in size!

Talking to @k.tran - his softies tank runs at a much higher intensity than mine. I was running at 30% peak using an AI Blade. I’m going to ramp up slowly to 80% (4hr peak) to see how mushrooms will respond. Nems will love more lights though. I need to get a PAR meter one of these days vs guessing!

What do you guys think?

Indeed - always nervous but I’ve kept telling myself that it’s dying and needed my help to propagate for its own survival…lol

That’s because yours and my other tanks got very high flow! This tank just got very low, random flow so things don’t move around much, esp on the sand bed.

lol - will hit 50% tonight and 80% by this weekend.

WTB: an Apogee PAR meter now. My friend let me borrow it but sat on the shelf for 2mos+ since I was lazy. It’s time to get serious and measure PAR.

I'm def curious as to how that light preforms as a single light

I have room for a second light but prefer not to go “toward the light”…

My alk & temp are now super stable. Next one to tune after light will be nutrients. I haven’t tested N&P for 2 weeks though.

Well - I’ve brought some mushrooms and rocks from the frag tank last night. This morning there’s an army of planaria. Did some manual removal but still some left. Will add a Six Line Wrasse for control but hoping to not do the FWE…

Careful with FWE. I wiped my 1st tank using FWE and I guess the subsequent toxic planaria juice started a chain reaction I couldn't stop.

Thanks for the warning. Getting a Six-Line Wrasse this week and will just siphon for now. I’ll try the FWE as the last resort.

It’s only logical that my frag tank has them. However, I could not visibly find them - buried in crevices which my other Six Line could not eat. Again, unless problematic, I ain’t dosing FWE since I got sensitive giganteas in that tank!

Added a second return pump (Jebao DCP 4000) but got a 1st World Problem - it’s waaay too strong and the new stupid controller limits to 30% as the lowest setting!$$@

Anyway, it was rough redoing the plumbing but I managed to get it to work with both at 30%.

Man you move quick, we were just talking about that on sat!
The power of AMZN Prime and boredom! lol

The return pump is the tank’s sole life support since there is no wavemakers. I’ve made sure that one pump is connected to the UPS and the other one to a separate power circuit. ;)

So…
Return pump: check
Heater/controller: check
ATO: check
Dosing: check

I feel super safe with this tank — since I don’t run a skimmer, it’s super low maintenance!

Now you can shift your focus onto more important experiments like starting an outdoor pod culture or setting up an aptasia tank.
