Just want to share my story and see if anyone out there happening the same. Recently I bought a brand new sealed box vortex MP40 from lfs that label manufactured on may 2022 which last month, and what happen is the adaptor is WRONG, it can’t fit in! I immediately went check my old MP40’s adaptor and it’s different from this new one, good that I called ecotech and they able to replace me a correct one, so I feel they might have a some troubles if a tons of their wavepump were made around the same time could be all wrong adaptors .

My favorite line from EcoTech customer service is, “we know some mp40’s get super hot like it’s going to burn your skin, but don’t worry, we really care about safety”

I have had some interesting experiences with the MP series myself as well as other bigger named brands. I always find it funny how brand perception seems to be down to the amount of money spent on marketing and how pretty things look. I think its important to remember that a lot of the brands out there come from essentially the same regions and in some cases even the same exact factory (just like kirkland brand at costco). It other cases its even true that some "higher brands" actually are so cheap and spend so much money on the marketing/management/etc that they compromise the quality of the product to support their expenditures. There are a lot of off brand products in reefing that I have had zero issues with for years and saved a ton of money on over the years without sacrificing actual utility and longevity.

Don't get me wrong there are some brands that are actually worth the expense and are high quality but always need to keep an eye out as a consumer. One of my other favorites was when neptune came out with their auto top off kit to integrate with apex, the company was claiming online and at tradeshows that the pump could easily pump like 30+ feet in the air which is insane if anyone knows what goes into head pressures/dynamics. I bought a IM 25 from someone that came with one of these auto top offs and I was having issues pumping it about 5' from a 5g jug to the back of the tank on top of a stand. Got more than 1 replacement from neptune and same thing happened along with a host of other sensor issues/BS, ended up throwing it away. The tunze is gold standard for a reason and I have always used them for years on other systems, ironically neptune was charging around $200 for those kits at that time too which was way overpriced... Maybe they figured it out since then
