My Tank Build
#41
How tall do you plan on going with the stand? I'm not looking to dissuade you but those 3" on the tank height will make a big difference. I bought a 300 that was 30" tall and the stand was kinda tall too and I ended up selling it off right away because it was just too **** big. I was on carpet and it was kind of wobbly (when empty) and that scared me (especially with little ones running around). When I was planning on getting it Emac said to me, "A 300 ain't no joke!" and he was right. I would have had to be on a ladder to do anything with the tank and if anything needs to be done on the bottom, you're reaching WAY down.

Just things to think about in your planning stage!
Lol a 300 is no joke especially at 30" tall. I've done a 28" tall tank and I could barely reach the bottom of the front and if anything feel in the back forget about it. It either dead or grow back there and I'm no means a small guy for those that don't no me. If I ever get into another large tank (witch I might a feed after my wife's Yukon is paid off) my dream tank would be 8'X2'X4' wide peninsula

BeanMachine Cody, are they going to have your tank up for display at RAP? Or did I misunderstand? I hope you got a discount for the free advertising if they are!
Yes it will be in their booth at RAP in November. Its not free advertising, but I am saving the freight charges which aren't cheap.

I'm up for the challenge. The stand is 40" Tall. Step stool and grabbers are in my future.

I have a A.G.E. tank and steel stand these guys are the best they will calculate all the steel and make sure it has cross braces as needed and enough support once it's decided on base design they have a engineer review and adjust accordingly. Great tank Cody. Can't wait to see it

I'm skinny, I'll just put on a mask to do the maintenance.

Cody, that's an awesome deal! Freight can be killer. And you'll have mad bragging rights at RAP when people see your tank on display. lol

And heck, you got an unlimited supply of reefers to help you carry it home. Well played, sir! Well played! =P

Nice. You gonna tie your top of into your reservoir in the garage? Now I just use a float valve. No issues yet.

Which model reefbrite did you use? I have an 8-bulb dimmable ATI and want to add these but don't know if I need to go full-bore or just the Tech, or....?

Thanks.
