Looking really nice! I take it, from the great color, that you have your alk under control.

I think I’m going to be shooting for 8.0-8.5 for the forceeable future. Really afraid of high alk myself.

Sorry to hear about the alk swing. I use salifert so hopefully the kit isn't that far off. Do you go until color changes compeltley or at first color change? I've heard mixed opinions.

That rock flower nem garden is awesome!

I've done both but not the first color change, usually one more drop. Its a difference between a drop or two at most, which wouldn't amount to 2 dkh… more like .3 or so difference. Curious why the ATI test is so high.

Thanks. So far so good. They don't seem to want to extend out of the pipe very much when the light is on, but when the lights are off they are quite a bit more inflated. I'm using the Tunze 8850 light with just the blues and a little white. Honestly not sure if its too bright... I may dim it a little to see if that helps.

Did you test your water with ATI or Triton? Did you notice a big difference in your alkalinity based on your test kits at home? I was happy to see ATI says my tank has a tiny amount of nitrate and phosphate now but my test kits won't pick it up. I will try again tonight.

On 10/3 I tested and sent in a sample

Alk ATI 7.68 Salifert 8.6
Calcium ATI 419.6 Salifert 410
Mg. ATI 1319 Salifert 1395
Phospphospate ATI 0.06 Salifert 0.0

I use ATI, I think it’s the best value as it tests a lot of perhaps and includes a separate test for yoru RO/DI water too. It just takes 2 weeks to get results and navigating the webpage can be a PITA

Interesting. It sounds like their alk tests are a bit off.

Anyone up for terrible pics!? Lol Poor mans Lineatus Wrasse aka Sunset Fairy Wrasse. And a bleached lobo I picked up with some nice neon orange streaks that I’m hoping will color up.

I made a little frosted acrylic shield for my Tunze 8850. Glued some acrylic together and a sealed magnet set I had from Alternative Reef. It blends pretty nice since the light source is so narrow. I can’t raise it up any higher than it is inside the sump compartment so thought I would try this.

The rock nems extend crazy big when the lights are off at night but when they are on they are they shrink into the pipes mores than I’d like. So between blending the light and reducing the par I’m hoping they respond well and open up further.
