I may get flamed for this, but personally I don't see a problem with flipping per se. If someone sells at a price they feel comfortable with getting, and another down the line makes a few bucks and that buyer is OK with the price, I don't see any harm in that. Its the shady deals, lack of communication, changing the price mid drive, etc is what I have a problem with. Those are just bad sellers and I wouldn't want to do business with them.

But I agree that the post count should be raised to avoid people coming here to strictly sell and not contribute ideas or reef related knowledge that helps the community and our hobby.
I agree. People that want to get mad shouldn't be selling their 20pp frag for 20$. If it grew into 5 polyps then you should sell it for 4$ right? Lol. But if you get a good deal on something its your choice to choose what you want to sell it for. If theyre willing to pay who f'ing cares. Just don't flip free sh!t. Or beg/bargain saying you're new. Taking advantage of someones generosity so you can flip for quick profit. That's different. If I won something for free at a raffle I most certainly wouldn't give it away for free.

Andrew if you're lurking I have a prick fish I need to give away before I flush him. Come get it. I wont change the price from free to $$ when you're otw.

I agree, if all parties are happy then what's the problem? Id say it's an issue because of the so many different types of flippers. Plus in such a small community tempers will Deff flare. But Deff an interesting subject!

You know whats the worst? People with so few post counts selling a whole bunch of dry goods its very shady, furthermore id like to see the tanks that all these goods are coming from. I find it very peculiar that there are 1 or 2 people on the forum right now selling a whole mess of dry goods. Very andrewanahiem like.
According to the info that we have they are not him. That doesn't mean it's not but from what we can see its not.

Agreed!

I wish this site would be more strict about their selling policy. Make it like RC, 50 posts and 90 days...
Yea! Something in regards to actually contributing. There are guys with 100 posts but they are all crap. They Are selling 15 diff things! It's obvious, we don't need that here.

When I joined on, it didn't even cross my mind that a could sell here. One Day it hit me and I just sold some things laying around. Lol I wasn't aware of any rules InTerms of post counts or anything of the sort.

If we take s hardline on flippers raise post counts and months before sales are permitted we can flush out the Andrews of the world.

It's something I wish was increased also. I've had my say a number of times but the decision is Mikes to make. He is the only one who can raise the limit and change when people can see the for sale section.

We have always seen things differently here. I think in this small community it's just not a good idea to be a flipper. The reason I frown so heavily on it is that 9 out of 10 times it's guys that beg to get you down on price, say they are new or whatever and they get you down on price only to flip it for profit. IMO it's just wrong.

I honestly don't think we should force or try to make people contribute by reaching a post count. Those who want to actually contribute something to the community will. Those who are here just to flip will only meet their post count and do what they were destined to do from the beginning. I think we should shift away from selling in the first place. We should make it harder for people to sell to discourage the flippers and one hit wonders. I like RC's approach as someone mentioned. People can't even SEE the for sale forum before they reach a post count and a time limit. I didn't even know it existed for over a year until I reached the designated posts. There are other forums to sell stuff (RC being one of them) we should be more focused on the community and content and drawing in more "quality" people into this board. Lately, it's just been for sale threads and it's just simply boring. I spend more time on R2R than here because there is a lack of content. I sincerely believe there needs to be a paradigm shift when it comes to this stuff.

They can't see it until they hit the 20 posts. I agree that the time and post count should change, one thing we are not though is RC.

So my name is getting drag into this thread also. Interesting.... Adrock if you saying I work with Andrewanaheim then how come no one blasted me? Please do your research before calling someone out. You should go ask around first how many people I help out, hook up free stuff for and sell things for dirt cheap for before saying I don't support the reefing community or help another reefer out like Andrewanaheim.

I sold him things before for dirt cheap just like I hook up a lot of other reefer on this forum. What come out of his mouth has nothing to do with me. I treat everyone the same and hook anyone up when I can if I needed to sell anything I have that I don't need. I like any reefer on this forum to come out that have brought anything from me and say I did them wrong or not hook them up at all. I like to see how many people I have done wrong or not treated them right or not hook them up. Anyone? Go ahead and post please

I have an issue with you...after all those promises of an invite to come over and have a couple of beer and shoot the reef shi-ite, but they were all empty promises....hahhaha. Just messing. I don't think OB is on the FLIPperside..the force is too strong in this Kat.

No problem! It's just crazy to say you flip like the Andrew guy. I've bought a master scoly, two or three fishes, and quite a few LEDs from you. No way those prices justify flipping.

Whatever people do with stuff I sold them afterward is not my concern. I never associated with anyone on buying anything. I know there are a few people on this forum that have home corals business that have brought things from me also before for dirt cheap. So are they associated with me too? Those that brought from me to flip before know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm not going to mention any name or throw anyone under the bus.
