BTA and clown fish...

I got this pretty little thing from Tom at Socal Tropical a few weeks ago and it's a nice size nem! I love it!

the sure way to get them to host....
should have pulled the clownfish out and placed them into the container when you were acclimating the BTA, the fish freak out and hide in or under the BTA, because they have no place to go, then place them back into the tank and the clowns will know it's a safe place to hangout.

If you can? i recommend pulling the BTA out and the clowns and place them in a bucket for 30 minutes.

Yea I wish I did that but I didn't know at the time when I got it. That sounds like it would have worked too! They would have been coerced to the nem lol.

Well I definitely can't pull the BTA out since it's pretty much attached itself to my live rock pretty good and hasn't moved at all since he's been in my tank so I don't think I want to even try to get him off. But I'll keep an eye on it and see if I see movement and then try to get him out then do what you said but as for now I guess I'll just wait patiently :boring:

It is such a beauty. May I know how much you pay for it? I want to get one with neon pink and green/blue hue like that. How long have you had it by the way? Is it doing well? I don't like those brown dirty algae color anemone even though it is supposedly healthy. I rather feed my anemone regularly for it to remain is light transparent color

Thank you!! I fell in love with it when I saw it! I've had it for a little over 3 weeks now and it's doing awesome! It actually seems larger now then when I got it. It's always open and never once showed signs of stress from Day 1 . I like the way this looks over the darker anemones too but I also want mine to be as healthy as possible . I'm still going to feed mine but not as often as I was before. We'll see what happens.

I do feed it Dave! I was feeding it every other day and sometimes consecutive days at first but have lowered it to 2-3 times a week. Does it looked bleached to you? It hasn't deepened in color at all really.

LOL I actually thought about doing that but I didn't have the heart to do that to the fishys. So I'm assuming it worked right? Are they still hosting your nem?

I'm lucky. When I moved my anemone from my cube to my tank two days ago, the tomato clown took to it immediately. It hasn't hosted anything for a while now, so it's great to see the little guy (or girl) nestle nicely in the new home. I'll try to find him/her a mate next week.

i too have black clowns and am looking at a place to buy cheap inverts like a bubble tip or rose if you can still get them, any one know of a place in north county San Diego to get good prices

Did you do that while in the tank already? Mine nem is in my tank and well attached and my clown fishes are also in the tank so should I just try the net method like Wink posted?

When I picked up both the nem and clown, I had them both put in the same bag. Boom. Done. Friends before I got home.
