Hello everyone,

My name is Alen, some people call me Zee. I've been an active member of this forum for a couple of months now, participating in buying and selling frags. I've been passionate about this hobby for over a decade and love me some sticks!

I firmly believe in sharing knowledge and educating others in this hobby. Everyone has their own secret sauce and recipes, and it's great to help others achieve success in their systems too.

My tank is a standard glass 120-gallon with an external overflow, although I don't have the exact dimensions on hand. I've used dry rock and a sandbed (because I love Wrasses) in my setup.

As for equipment, I'm running three Reef Octopus Varios 4 pumps - one for feeding my display, one for the closed loop, and another for my external frag tank and other miscellaneous equipment. For lighting, I have two Ecotech Radion G5 Blues supplemented with an Aquatic Life T5 running blue plus bulbs. I use two Ecotech MP40s for powerheads running on anti-sync and a Reef Octopus Regal Ext for my skimmer. I also run a UV sterilizer full-time.

I dose my tank with ESV Bionic two-part and supplement it with biweekly water changes using Tropic Marin Pro Salt. I've found that it's better to mix my own salt rather than buying premixed salt from my LFS.

If you'd like to check out my system, I've posted some pictures on my Instagram account (@merlinsreef). I'm happy to answer any questions you might have, although I won't be sharing pictures of my sump or cabinetry work at the moment until I’m done cleaning it up.

Cheers to you all and thank you for having me!

Looks good! Getting ready to set-up an all acro tank shortly. What did you use for you scape and do you have a better pic of your scape so I can get some inspiration.

Thank you, I unfortunately don’t have photos on my phone of the scape without the coral, I’ll check my desktop out later on see if I have something on there. For this setup I used Marco rock mixed with whatever shelving rock I could get my hands on. I would advise you to keep your rockwork much lower than I did since I’m running out of room for my acros to grow vertically. This is the style I was going for (My tanks been set up for over 5 years though just had no coral up until last year haha.
