Starting up a new tank. Will be transferring most of my corals and fish from my old tank. Packaging is very good. Tank and stand came in two separate crates. Tank weighed 500# and stand was about 400#. The rear ATO and included power control center is pretty unique. Glass is very clear and Cade uses “German Whacker” white silicone which is different from other tanks I’ve had. This tank is heavy. Took six guys to get it on the above average height stand.

Will be transferring most of my existing equipment two xr30 g5, icecap pro algae scrubber, icecap kalkwasser reactor, and two icecap 4K gyres. Looking for a third xr30 or a Neptune sky if I can find a deal. Starting the slow rodi water filling process.

Was worried that having lower weir meant water would drain out if the drain pipes were removed but it looks like the two weirs have a separate chamber that overflows into the drain area from the top. So water should never get lower than the top weir even with both drains removed. Smart design.

My Tank Build

Subscribed.

I’ve been seeing a lot more of these Cade designed tanks coming to market and I like what they’re doing. Offering so much of what a reefer needs upfront is a good move on their part.

Maybe the many offerings that Cade offers will motivate the others, Red Sea and Waterbox, to offer more metal stand and control box integrated into their systems.

Yeah I agree Cade does include more things standard. Tank cover, power management, prebuilt aluminum stand, good sized reservoir that doesn’t take up stand space. Other brands it seems like you have to go to the higher models to get aluminum stand and they are almost never prebuilt.

What are your plans for refilling the ATO section?

I currently fill the ATO on my old tank by running a line to the container about once a week to fill it and then I wind it back up and put the line back under my sink. I plan to do the same with the Cade. In my opinion this is much easier than carrying buckets back and forth. Gets tiring with a 15g ATO as well.
