Hello SCR!

Its been awhile since I've been posted, nearly four years out of the hobby I've gotten the itch again.

The plan this time is to keep the system simple. I'll be the first one to admit I got carried away with tinkering experimenting with different reef keeping methods that ultimately made the whole hobby less enjoyable and more costly.

Here's a brief description of what I've got planned so far;

Tank: Reef Savvy euro braced low iron glass peninsula , with 2 ghost over flows 72X48X16.

my last tank was rimless and I really enjoyed the look of it but the salt creep was annoying.

Sump :Still deciding , probably 3 chambered 60x36x18 , option of filter socks

lighting: mostly likely will go with the ATI 60' Powermodule again,

Return pumps, 2x Abyzz , not sure which models, probably 200s

Flow, haven't decided, intrigued about closed loop. but so far on my qoute from reef savvy , 4 returns.

Skimmer: undecided.

I will be using a calcium reactor once everything is running, Not going to rush anything this time around . i have a Reef dynamics calcium reactor, the only piece of equipment I have left.

Heating: not sue but probably go with dual JBJ

Controller: APEX

The lead time for the tank is approx 8 months so I still have a lot of time deciding my set up. I haven't decided about placement as I recently bought a new house so I'm still debating. Im leaning towards sectioning off part of my garage.

Let me know of any thoughts or suggestions, totally open to ideas that will keep maintanence less cumbersome

Thats an awesome footprint and peninsula to boot! Looking forward to this build. Is Reef Savvy building your stand as well?

.... should take about 8 months or so to build, i didnt ask them about that but thats a good question. I do need to find someone to make the stand for it. Does anyone know if Aaron at SPS coral store is making them?

Not sure on Aaron but if you need a second quote for a steel stand I had mine built by Willie at Ocean Marine Sales in Covina. Good guy

I built my own stand... I don't know that I recommend that but It only cost me $600 including powder coat.
