It'll be interesting to see what chat looks like after this... If there is a different chat program, in other words.

We were looking at a Java based chat client that was pretty cool, but since Java is so inherently craptacular, we decided to pass...

Looking forward to whatever improvements may come.

java is awesome...what you talking about bruce. I used to program nothing but java....

Incompatibility with prior versions. I have to clean the .jar files off my system weekly because I use apps that don't play well with other apps that use Java.

I know it all comes down to the laziness of the programmer, but having to delete those files and re load them all the time gets REEEEEEALLY old...

IMO flash is a better option (and that's not exactly perfect, either!).

yes flash is awesome, but harder to program imo and requires too much time. but either way both are fun to program
