Currently I have a Red Sea reefer 250 with a sicce syncra 6.0 for my return. I usually run it at 38% because it’s pretty strong. Could I split the return and turn up the % and accommodate a JBJ 1/10 chiller

Here is a pic of how it’s plumbed. When I bought it it had a split and the guy said he used it for a chiller.

I don’t see why not my return pump is feeding my media reactor , refugium ,and when it comes time it will be feeding my chiller as well .

If you have your return pump currently turned down then i would think so. I have ran my chiller with a maxi jet 1200 pump before which I don’t think it’s a lot of flow and worked fine.

you should be fine. Looks like the previous owner already figured out the problem & fixed it by adding that ball valve in order to throttle the flow. The split will reduce flow because of all the extra plumbing inside the chiller & the obstruction of the split, so you might have to increase flow but not by much & might also have to play around with that valve until you find the sweet spot. Should be fun. Good luck.
