Just started doing it but I did about a cup per gallon and everything rinsed off my mp40 after soaking overnight.

So easy, doesn't stink like vinegar

The best price for Citric Acid is on Ebay. All sizes and prices. I've been using it for a few years. I use about 1/2 cup in 3-4 gallons of water in a bucket mix it up well. Wait a day or so and then wipe off the sludge/algae. It is used in food that we all eat. My experience is it is siimilar to vinegar without the smell and is more effective.

I use 4 tbsp in quart of water. I do it in a pitcher right next to my tank. Just drop in the pump/powerhead, etc for about 4-5 minutes and it is done. I rinse it off with a pitcher of clean water, wipe it off and put it back in the tank.

I don't even unplug anything except the vortech because it's feed mode works differently
