so my b&w pair (acquired from furfeet) have finally seperated themselves from my true perc pair (who are a confirmed pair) and have chosen a spot in the tank to defend....my percs host all my nems and my b&w's got the rocks lol....anyways the b&w male and female are both showing the cleaning behavior and are doing the spawning motions in the pit but with no eggs....my question is..if i put some flat rock or something there will they lay eggs or am i just trippin?

feel them well... having other clowns as tank mates might delay things... I had set pairs in divided tanks with black dividers being feed 3 times a day living in flowerpots.. they were cleaning those things for almost a year before they finally started spawning...

not to burst ur bubble...

buy/cut a small 3x3 piece of tile...and lay it diagonally on the rock... that makes an awesome nest surface...

food, clean water, and habitat... keep them consistent

Can you raise the temp a little? I've read that will help encourage the spawning. If you just got them it might take a little more time until they are completely comfortable.

Hey daniel. I don't know if you saw my thread. I had my pair for 2-2.5 years before they started to spawn. My water temp is around 76-78 degrees and lights are on from 4pm-1am. I feed them 2 cubes of mysis for the whole main display tank once a night and if I remember I feed them some pellets during the day(switch back and forth between spectrum and formula two). Hope that helps!
