Quick update on the 24k indo gold torch that I put on back wall in previous posts. It’s doing good. Very long sweepers/tentacles. This is the one I saved from BJD and dremel down to 1 head. Now I think it has at least 4-6 heads, almost touching some SPS and OG so I had to move it higher. Does make water changes harder.

That’s the first time I see someone put a OG bounce on the back wall like that. Doesn’t gravity just force them to come off?

It’s probably 1st time being done. Nobody crazy enough to try. LOL.

I don’t think it’s good in SPS high flow tank. Some do fly off and lost in tank. So need to make some compromises with lowering flow, which might be problem in future as SPS grow and need to crank up flow.

So eventually they might need to come off if I have to add flow. It’s all an experiment. I’ve shown that it can be done.

I'm too lazy to clean the back panel. So in my last tank and my current 750g we used black pond foam and mounted flat slab rock to the back wall. And then started seeding it. We got some of the brightest and most metallic branching gsp - so as it grows instead of being a mat it creates towers going up as well and adds a bunch of dimension to the GSP. Our back wall also has acros, torches, frogspawns, duncan and mushrooms. Our tank is 48" from front to back. Having the color and the life on the back wall of the tank draws your eyes through the tank and really gives a chance for the depth to be perceived. Ive been fantasizing about a tank in which all walls of a peninsula tank be covered in solid growth except for the front one looking down the tank. Would be like looking down the some hippies room. Shag carpet, neon posters....i think some of you are having flashbacks.

I always liked the GSP back wall. It gives such good contrast. I've also seen a backwall filled with zoas, and that was cool as well.

If the OG and torch back wall doesn't work out, I have a yellow Cyphastrea which I really like...and I think that would be a great background.
