This 1inch babycowfish is in a 58 gallon reef, and it showed no interested in food yesterday and today. The day I got him, which was 3 days ago, it was eating mysis fine at the lfs and in my reef. All other fish and corals are doing fine.

I tried feeding him mysis and flakes only. He seems to be swimming around fine but a lil slower than the day I got him. Any suggestions?

Thanks all -Mike

I just bought a small black and white boxfish that pretty much fits the same bill too. At least ive never seen him eat when i feed. I was told that they can take almost a week to start eating after being moved into a new tank. Seeing how they are similar fish this might be true for you too.

You could try Kent Marine Garlic Xtreme or something like it. I have never tried it but I'm told it will help to get fish to eat. Has anyone else here used it?

"Description:
Garlic Xtreme contains a powerful source of garlic that can serve many purposes in aquariums. Used as a food soak, Garlic Xtreme is a strong attractant, enticing finicky eaters to begin feeding sooner. Additionally, Garlic Xtreme may be used directly in aquarium if fish are not eating. Garlic Xtreme contains no artificial ingredients or steroids, and does not need to be refrigerated!

Considerations for use:
Kent Garlic Xtreme is an all natural food additive for all ornamental fishes. It is a natural attractant for fish and will help cause finicky eaters to take food. Garlic is safe for all species of marine and freshwater fishes and plants, live corals, and other invertebrates. Because Garlic Xtreme is very strong and fish are extremely sensitive to chemical cues and scents in the water, it`s not recommended that you exceed 2 drops per feeding, or fish may become confused."

Hey Guys,
Found out my nitrate was a little high and figured it was stressing out my little cowfish.
I did a good 30% water change in attempt to lower the nitrate. Good news is, my little cowfish is eating today. I was jumping to joy when I saw it.
