Does anyone have experience growing sps with a current orbit marine light fixture? I'm looking to use one on my 20 gallon penninsula sps dominant build.

Jetli1969 not true have grown lps for a long time on a previous tank with a first gen orbit marine and tank was 21 inches deep. Just curious if anyone has had success with sps long term (coloration and growth) as I had a monti cap in this tank, but only for a short period of time.

According to Current's spectrum and depth chart, best case scenario is 70-120 PAR 6-9" deep. Gets much lower after that. Will be tough to do an SPS dominant tank with such low PAR numbers like that.

There is not a lot of real budget stuff if you want to do a sps dominant tank. You pay one way or the other. Or sacrifice growth, color, healthy,....

Why not get a 4 bulb wavepoint T5
Or odysea T5 and add a couple of cheap blue LED strips, even better would be somekind of retro fit kit with some ati bulbs.

Id be on the hunt for a used quality fixture. Razors are nice for those narrow width/long tanks. Possibly a pair of kessil 150s, hydra 26, ai primes ect. Ive seen nice sps frag tanks lit with prime hds.

Youll have enough to battle keeping sps in a nano sized tank, get a quality light so you can eliminate that from the equation.

The new Current USA Orbit Marine would work, I have a buddy who grew nice SPS with one no problem.

A really cheap option for T5's is the Sunlight Supply Sun Blaze 2ft fixture with 4 bulbs. The fixture is like $100 on amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00KMACSE4/ref=twister_B077L4X912?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Just swap out the bulbs to either 3 ATI Blue Plus, and 1 Purple Plus, or 2 ATI Blue Plus and 2 ATI Coral Plus.
