I've been battling what I think are dinoflagellates. I bought a UV sterilizer to knock them down. Also I have red and green hair algae. I dosed fluconazole 11 days ago, but no noticeable reduction in gha yet... Any advice is greatly appreciated. I can't remove the rocks and peroxide scrub them.

Tested parameters yesterday with salifert kits.
Alk 8.0
Cal 430
Mag 1300
Nitrate and Phosphate 0 (pretty sure I bottomed them out and may have caused the dino bloom).

on Dino’s. I’ve had success with UV, O3 and GAC. At least here species of Dino’s that I have encountered. Dinos are like cancer in as much as depending on the type, different approaches are more effective than others and you are never cured, you just go into remission. I would address the Dino’s first.

for HA, I’m sure you have looked at nutrient levels and are possibly carbon dosing by now. If not, NoPox is the slightly more expensive rout (still cheep) to carbon dosing and proven effective. As for H2O2, I use a salient tritiation syringe, shut down the flow in the tank and directly apply 12% hydrogen peroxide then let it sit for a few minutes before turning the flow back on.

good luck
