Just wanted to show my progression of my diy calrx

I will post more once I get more done but the first hole I had to measure like 10 times before drilling the hole

Since I went with a dc pump it cost about the same as geo 612 but with a much bigger reactor and my own color scheme

Why the dc pump, and how much media does it hold?
I like it quite I’ll find out once I put it together it really depends how low I put that bottom plate

Honestly I’m just converting an Avastmarine Fluid reactor into a Calrx you can order the parts separately for what you need the plumbing and drilling is the diy part.

Did you do all the laser cuts? If so do you mind providing the CAD files

I had a leak at the uniseal areas was a pain to remove end up cracking a little but repaired the crack and replaced with a new uniseal. I also cut some acrylic rod for the media basket stand to keep it from wobbling and moved the ph probe to the center and used a right elbow to try to keep air bubbles out of the ph probe for the intake area. I also added a drain so it can be drained if ever needed for maintenance or top off with media as it gets displaced

Looks a lot like the Geo, but more fun to build!!
If I had one suggestion, based on my experience with the Geo, if you had a way to blead off air/CO2 at the top, it'd be very helpful.
My Geo once running is awesome, but when getting things settled, the air at the top is a PIA.
Just a thought.

I’m experiencing that air suction noise and it’s annoying there is at least 1/4” air space at the top

There shouldn't be any air at the top. Part of the reason I mentioned the bleeder.
Try shutting it off and pulling the probe to remove the air. Should help

I actually found out the problem the thread needed more Teflon at the top of the effluent I was pulling and couldn’t figure out where until I filled up manually to the very top and noticed air was being pulled from the thread spot to where the effluent out is
