What do you mean by shrunk? My toadstool will look like crap for a couple of weeks and then come back stronger than ever, it is something they do from time to time, part of growing. A pic would help also.

The stalk on mine use to run down the side of the rock it's on, about six inches long. Then one day I noticed it was shrinking, or receding up the rock. Now it is short and stubby.

It did this before it started to split. But it never looked unhealthy while doing so.

It's my Kenya tree or something that looks like KT that shrivels up and gets ugly at times then bounces back. Always seems like after doing so I see little ones popping up.

it's moulting... i don't know if that's the correct term for it, but yea their "skin" peels off for about a week or two then they recover from it...

I've had a toadstool look like bad pizza and it recovered within 2 weeks.... i usually dose iodine when this happens, seems to make the process faster
