Dustin's 114 gallon mixed reef system

i will start this thread off with pictures of my basis for the build. i am using a standard 55 gallon acrylic display a 20 gallon custom acrylic refugium and a 37 gallon sump witch will be used to house only the equipment

sorry i jumped the gun on the stand. can't spend all day taking pictures....the first thing i will be doing is reconfiguring the stand to accept and support all three tanks for a total water volume of 114 gallons hence the title...i am always lookin for suggestions

Great start Dustin. I see that the display doesn't have an overflow. Have you considered adding either an internal or external overflow box? Sure beats using a U-tube style overflow and safer too. It's pretty easily done since your tank is acrylic.

update

here is the update complete w/ pics
stand adjusted to fit refugium i will be adding a 3/4" plywood base to the shelf the tank is there to show you the order of things

the next step is to frame around the fuge just as it is framed around the sump allowing full access from the front of the stand to either the sump or fuge.

this framing will also have to support the weight of the display. to be continued.....
