I had no idea that homeowners insurance needs to sign off on a fish tank. That’s crazy. And seems like everyone is getting back to halides.

I didn’t want to have any issues if shit hit the fan. I know our house is built on sandy foundation and wanted to make sure a tank that size wouldn’t cause a slab crack. So I contacted the manufacturer and my insurance to make sure

The reason I contacted the manufacturer and issue is. When I had my 300g in yucaipa during the 4years that tank was up and running our home had 3 slab leaks. I talked to two other neighbors and they had 1 slab leak each. It seems like quite a coincidence that in 4ys of time that house got 3 slab leaks. After the 3rd leak my plumber was like “hey man , idk what the fuck is going on with this house. I’ve only had 1 other slab leaks in this neighborhood. But yours has had 3 now. I think you should have the house repiped with PEX tubing.” So the house got re-piped. Granted this house is already PEX tubing. But where I would be putting the tank sits 2 feet from the natural gas main.

Makes sense. That's a lot of weight in one spot, so it's better to be careful, especially around gas lines. Btw, I somehow overlooked your post about going back to halides, fuck yeah! Welcome back to the club! There's nothing better for acropora (and clams) than halides.

Classics are classics for a reason. The tort is fire. Do people even still have purple monsters anymore? Seems like not a lot of people have it.

I just lost my piece last month. The magnet on the calcium reactor pump split and cause an alk swing so I lost my PM over night
