I had a 180 in my garage, I ran 2 400w radiums supplemented with 2 xr30 pros on it, that tank had great color and growth. I think you got the ultimate set up right there.

I added a amazon fire for the display.

Used an old car magnet mount to hold the fire up and make it easy to take off when need to program and don’t want to stand

So whats this? Is it hooked up to apex and showing the probe readings?

Hey Eric,
Your PH is so high even with a cal reactor. You have any tip or tricks you can share?

Yea I think it a false reading. It’s an old probe. I’ve tried many times to re-calibrate the probe. I used up all my solutions and gave up. Need to buy a new probe tho. The probe in the reactor is fairly new.

But I do use little tricks to help with pH. One is my skimmer draws air in from out side the stand. I like to have that air draw out side the stand cause of the co2 that does come from the calrx. I dont what to draw stall air into the skimmer.
Also I do have the fan on the side to the stand programmed by temp control and also pH.

But I really don’t even pay attention to tank ph. I worry about my reactor pH way more.

How is it when something is going to go wrong it’s always when your not home! I had to stay out of town for the night. So earlier today I got a notification from fusion that the tank was at 81.1 degrees. I called to wife and asked “Is it hot af at home?” She said it was like 75 with a nice breeze. I’m thinking wtf. So I start looking into any issues on the fusion dashboard. I noticed the power consumption went up by a few amps. So I start thinking dam I’ve got a bad pump or something. Thinking a pump was drawing more power and causing excess heat. I proceeded to start shutting each thing down on the eb8 down to see if I saw the change in amps. I really couldn’t see a big change in amps when shutting each outlet down. I’m a bit puzzled and figured eff it I’ll be home in like 4 hours I’ll shut everything down on that eb8 and just let the tank run off the pumps inside the tank for a few hours.
So an hour goes by and I open fusion to see what the tank temp is. I figured if the temp fell I’d just start the return for an hour or so to get some water movement in the sump. Well when I opened fusion I noticed the eb8 that had everything off on it still had amperage still running through it and it was erratic af. It then hit me what was happening.
Any guesses?

Well a outlet broke and is stuck in the circuit open.

Any guesses on witch circuit?

The effin heaters.
Dammit I plugged 2 300w heater into outlet number 3. I’m guessing the amperage was to much and cause the circuit to fail. I know better too but didn’t realized when programming the apex. I knew outlets 4&8 were the high amp outlets but didn’t even think about it. Dit dee dit dee.

Idk but I’m thinking my pH is really that high! Because while all this crap was happening I turned off the solenoid for the co2 and even the pH in the calcium reactor shoot sky high.

That is rough- at least you got the warning from the Apex that something was out of whack. The heaters are notorious for failing on. I have my heaters set at 78 and the apex at 76 so if the apex fails, hopefully the heaters internal controllers can act as a safety and vice versa. Definitely need to use the heavy duty outlets on the blocks for the heavy draw heaters/chiller/etc. good time to reprogram that outlet before summer temps kick in.

Sweet set up with the lights. Just have to sneak some t5's in there and it is perfect.

I use apex but I get so frustrated with apex at times. I am having a weird issue with some tenuis so I have decided to heat the tank to up to about 81-82 from the usual 78. I am sure apex will strike either with this new set of instructions or when i go back to the previous ones.
