Just started using this stuff, water is currently at 12 dKH and calcium is at 400. Can i just use part 2 to only raise the calcium?

second question >< if mag levels are low, will the calcium levels still be accurate when testing? or will levels be off when testing (more calcium in the water than test reads).

thanks in advance,
jeremy

Yes you can use only one of the two part, and its also good to put your mag in the right parameter the alk, cal and ph will became unbalance if you prolong the low mag.

Use the calc from BFS to get the right amount to add for each. You dont need alk but bring your mag up to the right level will help. You alk might be too high and cal is a little low. Test for you mag and get it where it should be and your system should start to fall in to place. good luck

If mag is off you will have a hard time maintaining the calcium. I don't think the mag level will affect the calcium testing.
