Has anyone used this as a dip?

I have read that this stuff kills BCP, and some say it is safe and others not. I think I have a frag of SPS with some BCP on it. I want to dip it and see if it will kill the BCP.

Does anyone near OC has a few grams of this Fenbendazole that I can acquire ASAP?

If you're still looking Jimmy, try Ali.

You are better off taking the rock out and scrubbing it or fragging the coral. This stuff has tendrils that spread everywhere and I battled it for 3 years. Finally, just had to take every rock with it and baked them in the sun. Good luck.

I just chucked the rock with a couple very expensive corals on it. Not going to risk it.

Just a follow up for anyone battling this black/blue clove polyp (BCP) with Fenbendazole. Since I planned on chucking this rock regardless, I decided to set up a separate 3 gallon QT (cheap light, heater and powerhead) bucket for this rock with BCP (it had some mushrooms on it), and dosed 1 whole pill of Fenbendazole that I got from Ali. Then I just waited and see what happened. I was curious how long it will take. It took about 2-3 weeks for the BCP to die, and I think I left it running for 4-6 weeks...just to make sure all to get all the roots are gone. So I think it does work. No long term study was done to see if it can last long term because I chucked the rock afterwards and bleached/sun dried everything.

I think I used a much higher dose than most people on R2R. They were dosing their display 1 pill for a big tank. I didn't care about the rock since it was in QT bucket, so I just filled a 5gal bucket half way... and put the pill in.

What I learned is that a dip in Fenbendazole will not work, it takes over a month or more to fully die...at the dose that I used. Now, I got the pill from Ali (Amazing Aquariums), so I don't know what brand it was. But Fenbendazole does work to kill BCP. The mushroom also survived the whole treatment with no issues. I saw the bristleworms died as well.

I total forgot to update this when I ran the experiment. Hope this will help someone in the future that wants to treat for BCP.

They just dosed their whole tank? Do you know the dosage? Tell them to join the forum. That’s the most important part of the forum. Sharing solutions so we all can learn.
