As the title says, I have some yumas in my tank that are crazy aggressive. I started out with 2 of them, about the size of a dime, and now they are threatening to spread all over the place. They are temporarily isolated on my biggest piece of live rock, as you can see in the picture. I would just pull the rock out, but that rock "anchors" my whole rock pile, so I would basically have to break down the whole tank to remove it.

Has anyone tried any other means of controlling these guys other than removing the rock? I have considered slicing off the body of the yuma and then using epoxy to cover up the stump left over.

The yuma rock is highlighted in this picture...it used to be covered with 4 kinds of zoas, but the yumas have knocked them all out, and they are about to kill off the radioactive green dragon eyes and the mean greens at the top, and the bam bam oranges and crossettes on the bottom right.

One thing that works is to do what you mentioned " slice the yuma, cover the foot with epoxy".

I think I am going to try that first. I really like my rock pile right now, and I don't want to redo it unless I absolutely have to.

I would never have introduced them if I had known how they spread and multiply. I thought they grew like rics!!!

imo that is the best part of your tank.
just cut off the one's that are right at the zoa's
so im saying trim the tree dont just cut it down lol.
Thanks for the advice...This whole thing is like deja vu, I went through a similar problem with the right side of my tank recently. I had some ugly brown polyps that were taking over all my pretty zoas. I took them out and re-scaped the whole right side, so that is why that side looks so bare.

Looking back, I probably should have just broken down the whole tank when I did the right side.

These were the zoas that were taking over (picture is from zoaid.com). They actually climb over other zoas and smother them out:
