Fragged Scoly

Went to a local LFS and they had a couple beautiful scoly's that had been fragged into 1/4 pieces. They told me it would take a year to grow back fully round. I find that hard to believe, but would have no idea if this is true. Anybody have any experience with this? They wanted $150 per frag of the master scoly.

People have fragged them before... so probably true. How long I have no clue.

I am new to scoly's. Is this a good price for a 1/4 frag of a master scoly?

I have fraged them and yes it take a minute to grow round again and that price isn't bad

Just stopped by there again and they showed me a picture of it before they fragged it and it was incredible.

Like Broc said, it takes a while. A year? Maybe. Shorter or longer based on your system and how you maintain it and the nutrients in it....etc. Rayray fragged one about 6 months ago and he put two halves together. I saw it the other day and it was fused but not perfectly round. If you don't have $600 for a master, then this is probably the way to go.
I would mount it to another rock and build up the base to support the new growth.

So he took two different ones, cut them and then fused them together to make a different looking one? Is this what you meant?

I've always thought it must take some stones to frag a scoly!
