Hello friends,

two situations currently occuring

1. I have rainbow bubble tip anemone that are spawning out of control. I’d love someone to help me get them out and would of course be happy to give them to anyone interested. Easily have 5-6 available.

2. I have a huge, beautiful Colorado sunburst anemone. It’s easily 14 inches across when full opened. It’s stinging my corals and needs a new home (not free). I also have clowns that we’re hosting but now they’re fighting constantly and I’d love to rehome the more aggressive clown (free)

Bubble tips will typically attach it's foot in a crevice underneath the rock. I do notice they'll sometimes attach above the rock or maybe on the sides somewhere but for the most part, I would say that they're attached underneath. If so, I would first try irritating it by flipping the rock upside down, this way the foot/lower body will be somewhat exposed to direct light and higher flow. My guess would be that the foot/body is more sensitive to light than the oral disc and tentacles or it could be the higher flow that's encouraging it move. Once they're on the move, you can detach with ease.

Former anemone breeder here.

Removing anemones if you can remove the rock is pretty easy. Just hang it upsidedown over a bucket and put on ice cube on the foot. It takes a minute or two. They do not like the cold. Let gravity be your friend here.

If you can not remove the rock, freeze a water bottle. Put that in the tank on the foot of the nem and blow the foot with a powerhead. It will take a few more minutes. Ice cubes don't work well in the tank, they melt to fast, but if you have a 16oz or so frozen ice cube in a bottle it works pretty well. Just be prepared to remove the powerhead you are blowing it with so it doesn't get sucked into it.

The aggressive clown might be transitioning. It takes a few months and it will make the other it's bitch. Then they will start breeding. It is going to happen with any clowns you put in. The larger one is the female, they are usually cranky/territorial.

What do you want for the CSB?
