Frogspawn heads falling off

I woke up this morning and a head of my frogspawn was laying on the sand bed and looks like another head is halfway hanging on. I noticed one of my emerald crabs right by it but I don't think he would mess with them. anyone have any ideas what could have caused this?

Check your salinity and your parameters. When euphyllia get stuck in a brackish lagoon or an estuary condition they drop their heads.
