HI All, the dreaded time has come to fumigate my house. I only have a 60 Gallon cube so gonna house all fish and coral in a brute at neighbors and leave the tank in the house with plastic wrap. Was wondering if you guys had any suggestion for which air pump I could use to pump in fresh air to the tank. Much appreciated.

you could run air if its fast enough with a lot of cfm to create a positive air pressure to keep what ever is coming in before you wrap your tank. I always wondered what people were to do for fumigation. Its always best to have someone hold it for you at few different places rather then your brute at least the corals bc if something happens to the brute then your done. Bc you would want to put tester frags back in before you put everything from the brute back in which could cause a crash.

I did this with my 150 and it all worked out fine:
took fish and coral out of house.
used the plastic bags they provided and laid them flat (unopened) over the tank and taped closed with the exception of a single air tube pumping air from outside.
Simply used one of those blue whisper air pumps from petsmart/petco and tubing.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice! Did you cover the sump as well with the plastic bags? I'm assuming you turned off the skimmer and return as well? Also, did u use an exhaust tubing? Last question...did you remove your mg/alk/ca or did you just leave it alone. Thanks again

You should cover the sump too. Turning off the skimmer would be a good idea so it doesn’t suck anything into it. But keep the return running and add carbon. I wonder if you can also add more plastic cover the kind that you can get from Home Depot in the paint section and wrap it all up and tape the floor too.

thanks for the advice. try to wrap the sump too, but the back of the sump is open and i cant get access to the back since tank is in a nook area. I'll try to the tape the sump up from the inside. Tenting end of November, so will update once it's done.

Thanks again all.

Just an update. Had the fumigation. Moved out 50 percent of coral, 75 percent of rock, all fish and shrimp and stored them in neighbor's garage for 4 days. Wrapped up tank and sump( could not fully wrap) up sump and ran an airline from outside. Glad to say no losses
