Hello guys, I don’t think this is a thread, so maybe a good one to start. I saw @Discotu share links to a radion ballast replacement and one other item. We gotta save where we can.

Please add any generic links or models for replacement parts. Ill with the auto aqua replacement ato pump.

ReefMat 3rd party fleece roll U.S. supplier:

https://preconfilter.com/

I've been using them for almost 2 years. Just fill out the form and Steven responds pretty quickly. You can also email them here: preconsales@gmail.com

Reef2reef thread for reference with all info:

+1 on precon.

using them for years, and if you have an unconventional size roll, you can 3d print an adaptor or someone on R2R sells them. (Precon will direct you to them)

as far as “Generics” go, I just end up DIYing most things.

For example, Dosing is all DIY except the pump (Manganese and Iron from tablets, with random Daiso bottles)

another good source is Aliexpress for smaller stuff like airline tubing, cleaning supplies, etc. even have some nice led strip lights

Thanks @isaacalves . I’m running out of filter for my Deltec VF8000 so will reach out to them.

EDIT: reached out to Steve @ Precision Converting. Their price is only $11 for 50 micron, half the price of DeltecDirect at $22, and 40% longer so making it ~$7+shipping per roll? It's too good to be true!

Their rolls are 2" so I'll ask my son to 3D print the sleeve to go from 2" to 2.75" (or whatever the inner core size) that will fit the Deltec VF8000. Will update this group on progress.

Thanks again for this thread, @joseserrano . Keep 'em coming everyone!

When I was setting up my tank with bulkheads, tubing, locline, check valves and other miscellaneous plumbing parts, I found this site consistent cheaper than BRS.

https://www.savko.com/
Man...just picked up a 1-1/4" PVC check valve from BRS last week....and seems to be for twice the cost of what looks to be same one on this savko site. o_O

As an update - filter rollers arrived. Will order a year’s worth at the price point. Hope this one works out well. Steve is super cool - highly recommended.

My son 3D printed a 2” roller in white to match the Deltec VF8000.

Bulk food grade kalkwasser or pickling lime. Obviously, not as good as pharma grade, but this food grade.

LOL, this is used in making Tortillas! No reef premium.

50lb bag is $61+tax. Plus you get free pickup locally at one of their many drop points all over SoCal. Somebody buy me a taco on all the savings I'm dishing out. LOL.

Nice find & thanks for sharing! I’ve been using Mrs Wages but this is definitely cheaper!

Man - I’ll buy you an al pastor burrito! There are so many street tacos in Santa Ana now with killer tacos and burritos!

That is the cheapest CaOH2 I’ve ever seen. One bag would last me years. Are you using it currently?
