So i recently got a new syncra 3.0 silent. Well it turns out its not so silent and now im thinking of returning the pump cus the tank its in my room and i cant really tolerate it. I was wondering if there was way to fix this problem. Its operational noise and im wondering if i can add some type of lube or something. it is not touching anything and it has those robber knobs. im thinking of just pulling the trigger on an M! vectra and re plumb my tank but its to expensive so any advice with a 700GPH return pump with a 1/2" male/female outlet.

I went through the same thing. I had a Tunze silence (I believe same motor block as Sicce) and it was not silent. I changed it out to an Eheim Compact 2000 and it's much much much quieter.

Agree with solitude
Eheims are pretty quiet, there's actually a 1262 up on forum right now for sale
I've also used Fluval SP pumps which are really quiet and push a lot of water

The vectra pumps are good, but i think any DC pump would be good for you and your pocket

I use to run the 3.0 on my 60g and that thing was not silent at all. When you hard plumb, you will always or most likely get some noise through vibration or unless it the noise from the pump itself.

well i took the pump out and removed the pipe and it still made sound as if the impeller was scratching against the ceramic ring that hold its in place. so its probably the pump you think. the pump is sitting on the rubber mounts not the suction cups. anyways im gonna probably return to amazon and look for another. I thought these pumps where silent (a lie) hahaha any advice on brands and silent pumps you recommend?

The sp2 sounds good but might be to much gph n I need one that I can screw my pvc into a 3/4th outlet. The vectra is 2k gph max idk what's the lowest. Any lubricant that can be added to help I know it's a long shot lol? Just listen to this sound ugh

What DC pumps do you recommend

That I have no knowledge of since only my wave pumps and skimmer is DC. Everyone is a big fan of the vectra m1. Not sure if it's too big of a footprint for your sump. Plus it's always good to run a slightly bigger pump. You then build a manifold to power reactors or just T- off and place another outlet back to your sump to remove any dead flow.

seeing your video, it looks like you can benefit by putting some flex tubing in between the rigid PVC on the output.

Brs sells silicon hose in a lot of different sizes that is good for noise reduction. I was always too cheap to buy it though
