I figured since I’m pretty happy with where our system is at, I would do a build thread for you guys!
I know this system is something you don’t see commonly so figured it would give some interest to y’all!

I just wanna start off by saying me and my best friend opened a small retail location in Ontario last year. I was a repo man for 7 years and ended up getting into a few bad car accidents last year and doing a number on my back so decided to move this to a full time operation for me. We switched over to wholesale as we saw a need for vendors local to the Inland Empire area.

This is our 16 and half foot fiberglass raceway, it is 4 feet wide and 3 feet tall. Holds around 1000 gallons give or take. We use a 250 gallon tote as the sump.
Total water volume is around 1100-1200 gallons.

For return pumps we are using 2 Vectra L2 Return pumps. Each pump feeds a side with 4 outlets with random flow generator nozzles on them. They are both running around 30%.

The raceway is lit with 7 Ecotech XR30 Blues Gen 5. Running a reef dudes AB+ spectrum at 80%. Our PAR Ranges from 250 all the way down to 70. (Still need to build a box or some sort of enclosure to hide all the wirkng

Return pumps are ran on a 1 inch return line, and we run 2 2 Inch Drain lines with a 3 inch outlet into the sump

For flow we are using a Panta Rhei ECM 63 set on a custom wave setting running at 35%.

We do not use heaters or chillers, we keep our office at 77 degrees and our tank stays between 75.5-76 consistently.

I am currently in the process of building a custom fish system to also move into the fish side of the business and super excited for when I get the blueprints finished and can start cutting acrylic down and building the custom tanks!

For the Panta Rhei ECM63 order the cage/basket for it. Mine was like a fish grinder. It constantly pulled good healthy fish in and turned them into chum. I've run Tunze Stream 3s for years without a propeller gaurd no problem, but the Panta Rhei just sucks them in and chops them up.

Yup. He’s already ate a wrasse. Planned on snagging one and throwing a school of wrasses in.
