So I’m in the process of rebuilding my external overflow box. I got most of the silicone off with a flat razor blade but on the edges. Looks like the manufacturer roughed it up or sanded it and the razor blade can’t get to it all. I’ve already soaked it overnight in isopropyl alcohol 91% still not breaking it down. Any idea guys?

Contact golden glass in Anaheim. They had the best price on glass.

So when I cleaned the edges of all the old silicone on the 187 I polished the edges. I used a high buffer with 6” disc attachment and wet sand paper discs. I started with 3k then 5k then 7k and 10k discs and wet sanded all the edges to make sure all the silicone residue was removed.

ill do that next. Got 99 percent of the silicone off already. But with all the sand paper and acetone and new silicone should’ve jsut gotten a new one. But I’m already too deep into it hahaha. I’ll order the discs next

I did waist my time trying to cut me new euro braces from an old piece of glass. It was because I wanted 2” strips and no one locally would go less the 3.5”on59.5”X0.5”. But after a few days of calling around I found golden glass after Mike recommended. They were willing to do 59.5”X0.5”in 2.5” strips. Done son ordered and paid over the phone. Plus the pricing was by fare the best

So yea I could’ve just made it easy and put the sump under the stand and called it a day. But since it’s in the garage I’d like to be able to clean under the stand area ect. Plus I hate having to bend over to take pump out and clean. The final product I cut the external overflow box from 12 down to 5” just barely for plumbing. I also raised the stand from 36” I had in this pic to 42”
