Hi guys, I think the title says it all. I'm a new aquarium hobbyist and have very little to no experience with raising fish of any kind whether it be fresh or salt water. I recently tried my hand at building a reef tank and made my first mistake two weeks ago when I bought a 400 dollar tank from a guy 2 hours away and did all the wrong things in bringing it home. Within 2 hours all fish were dead and livestock as well. Fast forward to the present and I have now bought a smaller complete reef tank system for a much more reasonable price and have it set up. Seems to be running fine...for now. The fish have actually survived a day now! Anyways just wanted to drop in and say Hi and let you pro's know that I will likely drop in often to seek out advice from you guys. I Being new to the hobby will likely be asking questions that sound stupid but bear with me. thanks

Welcome!

Make sure and try the chat when you have a question. I have found that it can be way more helpful than using the forums. The response is almost instant, and there are always a few pro's hanging out and chatting. They have helped me a number of times.

Good luck!

tank

Well it was an established tank for a few years and appeared to be healthy, but what do i know...water clarity was good when i picked it up, just seemed to be a healthy tank with some growth coral on it and the fish were healthy and active. I put the fish in after about an hour of cycling the water.
