LOL the lion fish is tiny. I’ll attach a picture now.
I have a 6’ man walking around my house that once was a tiny little baby too. Inside 6 months that lion will eat every fis you now have in that tank.

I do dig the Lyon fish though!

Your rock scape is amazing A+ I love it!

why no on the more engineer?
Because they grow to be 2-3 feet long and will eat anything smaller than a blue tang.

I’m really starting to get annoyed with your retailer. Did he not have one of those little snowflake eels or one of those cute little baby black and white Dalmatian panther grouper fish? Or is he just holding out with the good stuff on you till later?

I didn’t know this about the engineer goby! I rely on liveaquaria for a lot of my fish info and then forums, etc. the lion fish is so cool. I’m more into the exotic fish.

I think my ideal stocking is going to be:

3 blotched anthias
1 gem tang
A goby pistol shrimp combo
2 fire fish

maybes:
Mandarin goby
Blue spotted jawfish; so bummed mine jumped.
Clarkiis
Damsel
Some type of wrasse

I’d prefer quality fish over quantity.
So it looks like I may have to re-home the lion. Even though it’s such a bad ass little guy. I have no intentions on keeping the 32g up and running.

coral wise: I really like the zoas, Palys, bubbles, and euphillia. The complexity of the lobos really
Catch my attention. Acans and blastos. The SPS like Acoras don’t really catch my eye, but who knows? Maybe with time. Montis are very cool
Though.

For aquascaping I cheated on the one stand alone “tree” Caribsea has a kit with a rod that I used for that structure.

Your stock list looks reasonable. If you get s manderin you want a captive bred one eating prepared foods or will probably starve in a tank that small. It is amazing the amount of pods they require.
Clarkies can be pretty aggressive and should be the last fish addrd. I would skip the damsel if you add the clarkies.

So here’s the 90g I’m setting up. My question is do I need to secure the hoses? I feel not securing them is problematic. View attachment 76117
Looking good & yes, I would secure any flex hoes or tubing with plastic clamps because saltwater does serious damage over time. Saltwater will chew through metal clamps, rusting & dripping the oxide into the water. Once they rust through, they’re very difficult to remove too or just snap right off. Hope it helps.
