Sup everyone having some trouble here
Currently I have innovative marine 40

Did a couple test today and some of my numbers seem weird.

Alk is at 7.9 (I used tropic marine pro always been this low)
Phosphate .01 (Hanna ultra)
Nitrate 25 (Hanna high range )

Did the test again same results.

Inside I have 2 clowns , 1 yellow corris, 1 diamond goby, 1 naoko , 1 cleaner shrimp

I run the innovation marine ghost skimmer. Bio balls in a chamber and chaeto (grape caulerpa) and sometimes I run the uv.

I haven’t added corals because I I’ve been waiting for all my parameters to be in check and tank to be more mature. Tank has been up since may

Any advice on getting nitrates down. I read that because phosphates are low tank can’t reduce nitrates ? Should I dose phosphates ? Or carbon dose ?

Any advice

If your running an AIO I suggest ditching the bio balls. Those are known nitrate factories. I’ve kept a few nanos, tried lots of techniques but not much beats regular water changes on those.

week one siphon the chambers
Week two siphon the display/sand
repeat.

25ppm isn’t that bad. However just do larger water changes then what your doing and possibly feed a lil less then you are
