I Drip acclimate until temp and alk match my display. If sps remove from base. Dip in strong bayers mixture for 7 minutes. Swoosh heavily before removing from dip to knock off any stunned pests, rinse in clean tank water and then into the display tank.
I cut off all SPS from frag plug or base or cut as much as I can and scrape off what I cant. Then do a Bayer dip. Swirl in clean saltwater twice then into the tank.
I used to just put the coral in without dip or acclimatization.
Now with the new tank in the work so is a frag tank that will hold my sps that are cut off frag plug and dipped.
I am trying to avoid any reef aid from you dirty mofos out there
I cut the base off unless it's a fresh cut dip in melafix for 10 mins super strength then give it an iodine bath clean off with fresh salt water and in to the tank.
Drip 10 min. Transfer to revive dip solution and baste 5 min. Tranfer to clean display water container and rinse off the dip. Transfer directly to display tank on lowest corner to light acclimate
