3, 28g JBJ nano, AL Sol, 2 clowns and a variety of corals, polyps, and others things I don't know yet
4, I started about a month ago looking for a goldfish for my three year old daughter. The rest is history. Four weeks later, I'm over a grand invested in a reef tank, hiding most of the expenses from my wife. I'm addicted.
5, I definitely need help with this hobby. I'm learning something new every day, and hope to make contact with other similar reef enthusiasts.
6. The idea is to successfully maintain my little nano for a year, then upgrade to a larger tank, transferring everything to the new tank (hopefully much larger than its current size).
7. That's about it. I'll find a spot to post some pics of my current set-up. I've got a lot of reading to do since I'm new to this forum. Glad I found this place.
Hey Don, I'm new and we also have the JBJ nano 28g.

30 Gallon Innovative Marine, Cinnamon Clown, Bicolor Blenny, Six Line Wrasse, Blue Mandarin, Orange Spot Goby Pistol Shimp Pair. Reef: RBTA, Daisy Polyps, Assorted Zoas and Polyps, Xenia, Kenya Tree, Trumpet Corals.
Introduced to this hobby by my best friend.
Been in the hobby for a couple years, was doing fresh for a while before making the good decision of switching over.
Any good natural way of getting rid of cyanobacteria? I use Chemi clean right now but I hate having to turn off my skimmer for a few days and turn it back on just to get microbubbles again.

Most people know me as Jerry. I live in Glendora. Originally form Temple City, so I'm a SoCal peep. I got into saltwater last July when I saw that there was a local store in town.
I have a custom bulit 50 gal with 20 gal refugium. I say custom in that it had to fit in a limited space, nothing fancy.
I started out with a yellow tail damsel and 4 chromis damsels. Once the tank 'cycled' I added 5 cerris sanils, 5 red hermit crabs and some micro algae. Then a few days later I added 2 emerald crabs,1 orange spot nasarius snail and 3 more nasarius snails. Here's where I am today, 1 Mocha Percula Clown, 1 Ocelleris Clown,2 Cleaner Shrimp,1 Starry Blemy,1 White Sand Sifting Goby, 1 Orange Fin Tang, more hermet crabs and some Copepods. 1 Sea Apple, 1 Rose Anenome, 4 Flame Goby's,1Red Lynkia Starfish,2 Pajama Cardinals, 1 Lawnmower Blemy, 2 Horseshoe Crabs and 1 Feather Duster. Last week I added 3 Azure Damsels and 1 Mandarin Goby. There are some others things but I don't want to bore anyone.
thanks

Jerry

I guess I am the last reefer in the west to sign up for this board. I am too broke to become a paying customer, but if I have a good day at the track tomorrow I will join -just to have a shot at the frag pack from Reefers Garage. (Louis is a nice guy to throw down some goodies!)

Thread Business:
Name: Kris
Location: Oceanside
History: Blue Chip Stamps redemption center catalog; I saw a massive MetaFrame 5 gallon tank that only cost 7.5 books of stamps, or was it 3.5? My mom gave me the stamps, I bought some guppies, which bred like crazy. Sold guppies, bought a bigger tank, you know the rest of the story.
I've been in and out of reefs for 20 years.
My current tank My tank.jpg

and my other tank is a 75 old school 4' fish tank, rock, no sand, skimmer, calc reactor, r/o water, Free Frags always accepted!

3. 150g w/ 50g sump. 5' long, 2' deep, 2' wide. From the bottom to the top: about 10-12 lbs of LR with a Reef Octopus Skimmer, a Media reactor, and water pump. Thinking of starting a refugium. My aquarium currently holds two OC clowns (been there since the start), Lawnmower blenny, Royal gramma, and a BG chromis. Oh and my CUC of hermits and snails. Also have 3 powerheads (Aqueon acp 1250), but I only have two plugged in bc the third always start moving my sand around. About 2-3 inch of Live Sand and about 80-90 lbs of LR.
Lighting: Just sold my tek lights 48" 8-bulb t5 bc I ordered two Kessil a360we. My FOWLR will be without lights for 3 days :( I may get the narrow model in the near future. Don't worry, I will have pics of my new lights and a video on youtube and instagram.

4. A buddy of mine decided to buy a 29 gallon Freshwater aquarium, and I liked it so much, that I walked in to my local LFS and discovered saltwater fish. Never again did I look at freshwater fish. I bought my setup off CL in Santa Clarita for an amazing deal that I could not pass up.
I served in the Army for 4 years AD, and 2 1/2 years in the reserves as an 88M. I was stationed in Ft Hood, Tx, where I met my wife. I have a 3 yo boywho loves when my clowns and BG chromis nibble on his hands...

5. About 4 months, and I couldn't be happier doing it.

6. I can use all the help I can get.
